How A Panther Moves, How A Piece Is Made

From Timber Yard to Your Shelf

Every piece follows the same four stages — nothing is rushed, because there is no factory line to rush.

01

Sourced

Reclaimed sheesham offcuts and recycled brass, selected and seasoned carefully for our workshop.

02

Hand-Carved

Chiselled or lost-wax cast by hand over 3–10 days depending on detail. No CNC routing, no production molds.

03

Finished

Tung oil for wood, hand-buffed patina for brass. No synthetic lacquer, no spray finish.

04

Signed & Numbered

We sign each piece on the base and number it against that season's studio batch. The number you get is the only one like it.

The Workshop in Jharkhand — Handcrafting wildlife art
Active Studio — Tribal Heartland, Jharkhand

Our Studio & Origins

Handcrafted at the Edge of the Wild.

Aranya is an independent wildlife craft studio founded by two brothers. While our field study and visual inspiration began through years of documenting apex predators in Ranthambore, our hands-on small-batch production is centered in our active studio in the forested tribal heartland of Jharkhand.

Surrounded by ancient regional traditions of Dhokra lost-wax casting and indigenous woodworking, we shape, carve, and finish every panel and sculpt ourselves in small, deliberate seasonal batches. No assembly line, no CNC machinery — just seasoned reclaimed timber, recycled brass, field observation, and patience.

"Every curve and posture comes from years of observing these animals in the wild. When we carve a tiger, we aren't copying a blueprint — we are remembering how it moved through the grass."

The Visionary & Founder

Rooted in Eight Years of Tiger Tracking

Aranya was founded by Sajal Aryan — an internationally acclaimed wildlife photographer, author, and conservationist — alongside his brother to build a slow, honest craft studio. Over eight years documenting the apex predators of Ranthambore and India's wilderness reserves, Sajal translated his deep understanding of big cat anatomy and movement into sculptural wood and brass art.

Together, they hand-carve and cast each piece in their active Jharkhand studio workshop, while dedicating 5% of net profits from every piece directly to local anti-snare forest patrol drives in wildlife buffer zones.

"When you sit motionless in the brush for hours waiting for a tiger to emerge, you understand true patience. That exact patience is what we carve into every single wooden panel and brass sculpt."

Questions

Before You Order

Every piece is chiselled, carved, or lost-wax cast by hand in our studio workshop — there is no CNC routing, laser cutting, or injection molding involved. That's why our batches are small: a single wall panel can take up to ten days of individual hand work.

Wood: dust with a dry cloth and re-oil with tung or coconut oil every six months. Brass: a natural patina will darken over time — that's normal ageing, not tarnish. Polish with a soft cloth and a little lemon and salt if you'd prefer it bright.

Most pieces ship within 5–7 business days since they're finished to order in small batches, then arrive 3–5 days after dispatch anywhere in India. You'll get tracking by email the moment it leaves the workshop.

Yes, for select wall panels and figurines. Message us before ordering with the piece and the change you'd like — custom requests add 1–2 weeks to the carving time.

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and we'll send a replacement or a full refund — no questions asked, no return shipping cost to you.

Yes. Each piece ships with a signed authenticity card noting the studio batch and the individual number stamped on the base.
